Thermal Plasma Skin Tightening

Plasma is the 4th state of matter. Plasma is a cloud of free negatively charged electrons and positively charged ions. When exposed to plasma energy, the skin goes through the process of sublimation - the action of turning matter from a solid to a gas, bypassing the liquid stage. In other words, evaporating excess tissue. The sublimation effect causes an instant contraction of the tissue. The plasma energy stimulates the fibroblast cells in the epidermis which produce new collagen and elastin in the skin.

It can also be used for acne and wrinkle prevention. It cannot be use for active acne as it may cause additional inflammation.

For comfort prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied for 30 minutes. The treatment can be uncomfortable, though little pain is experienced, and it varies person to person. Clients who use retinol and drying products such as glycolic and salicylic acid will be more sensitive. Most clients say the pain level is 1-4 on a scale of 1-10.

A minimum of 1 hour is required to allow time for the topical anesthetic to take effect and have the area treated. Larger or combined treatment areas can take 1-3 hours. For a comfortable experience, please attend your appointment on time to allow the topical anesthetic application to have the required time to absorb and take effect in the areas you would like to have treated. 

An immediate tightening will be seen during and after the treatment and continue for 6-8 weeks while in the healing process. Once healed, you will see an improvement in skin condition and tone. Collagen production gets progressively better over 10-24 weeks. If you don't see dramatic enough results after 8 weeks, you may require more treatments.

With proper aftercare and a skincare routine that's right for you, results will last 2-5 years. Unfortunately nothing, not even surgery, will permanently stop the natural aging process of breaking down collagen. Intrinsic and extrinsic factors can contribute to the collagen breakdown causing rapid aging of the skin such as UV exposure, lack of moisture, poor diet/nutrition, weight loss/gain, stress, medications, drinking alcohol, drugs (including pharmaceuticals) and smoking. A series of 3 treatments is advised for dramatic, long lasting results. A single treatment may be enough, but for severe sagging or excessive skin and deep or large scars, more than one treatment is required. Subsequent treatments may be performed 8-10 weeks apart.

Immediately after treatment, the skin will have multiple tiny carbon crusts on the skin’s surface. As healing occurs, the skin will appear dry and flaky. In the first couple of days, redness and swelling will be present. Every individual will vary, some may have low swelling, whereas some may swell for over a week. Pigmentation from the carbon crusts can be present for longer if they are rubbed off too soon, for example when lying on one side of the face whilst sleeping.  

If before and after care instructions are not followed properly, risk of scarring, infection and hyperpigmentation (darker skin) or hypopigmentation (lighter skin) may occur. These are rare, but possible. Please thoroughly read the before and after care instructions page.

Like most cosmetic procedures, insurance doesn't cover Thermal Plasma, as it is an elective treatment. However, all major credit/debit cards, CashApp, Apple Pay, GooglePay, Zelle, Bitcoin and cash are accepted. A 3% processing fee will be applied to credit card payments.
