Cold Plasma, sometimes called nonthermal plasma, is one of the newest skin tightening treatments. The Cold Plasma device (a small handpiece) uses minimal electricity in conjunction with helium gas producing a 2 mm plasma beam. The Cold Plasma flows from the device as it's passed across your skin, causing an immediate contraction of subdermal tissues and resurfacing even of your most delicate facial skin. Cold Plasma is able to completely resurface the skin with one pass, and on the second pass, visibly tightens the skin by millimeters to centimeters depending on the intensity setting. This allows removal of any surface irregularities and discoloration, as well as dramatically lifting and tightening the skin. It is truly a game changing new technology that cannot be compared to traditional laser or thermal plasma treatments or even to face lifts – as one can achieve resurfacing, lifting, and tightening with just one treatment.

Plasma is the 4th state of matter. Plasma is a cloud of free negatively charged electrons and positively charged ions. When exposed to plasma energy, the skin goes through the process of sublimation - the action of turning matter from a solid to a gas, bypassing the liquid stage. In other words, evaporating excess tissue. The sublimation effect causes an instant contraction of the tissue. The plasma energy stimulates the fibroblast cells in the epidermis which produce new collagen and elastin in the skin. This advanced procedure revives natural levels of collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin.
Sagging or wrinkling skin anywhere on the face or body, stretch marks, scars, skin tags, age spots, and more. See the rates section below for all treatment areas and types. It can also be used for hyperpigmentation and acne and wrinkle prevention. It cannot be used for active acne as it can cause additional inflammation.
For comfort prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied for 30 minutes. The treatment can be uncomfortable, though little pain is experienced, and it varies person to person. Clients who use retinol and drying products such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid will be more sensitive. Most clients say the pain level is 1-4 on a scale of 1-10.
A minimum of 1 hour is required to allow time for the topical anesthetic to take effect and have the area treated. Larger or combined treatment areas can take 1-3 hours. For a comfortable experience, please attend your appointment on time to allow the topical anesthetic application to have the required time to absorb and take effect in the areas you would like to have treated.
An immediate tightening will be seen during and after the treatment and continue for 30 days while in the healing process. Collagen production beneath the skin's surface gets progressively better over the next 2-3 months. If you don't see dramatic enough results after 30 days, you may require another treatment.
With a healthy lifestyle and a skincare routine that's right for you, results will last 2-5 years. Unfortunately nothing, not even surgery, will permanently stop the natural aging process of breaking down collagen. Intrinsic and extrinsic factors can contribute to the collagen breakdown causing rapid aging of the skin such as UV exposure, lack of moisture, poor diet, weight loss/gain, stress, drinking alcohol, drugs and smoking.
A general recommendation of 3 treatments is advised for dramatic, long lasting results. A single treatment may be enough, but for severe sagging skin, more than one treatment is most often required. Subsequent treatments may be performed after 30 days.
Immediately after treatment, you may experience redness and could feel like you have a sunburn. This usually lasts about 3 hours. For sensitive skin, it can last up to 24 hours. Unlike thermal plasma, cold plasma does not leave any visible dots (carbon crusts) on the skin. However, 24 hours after treatment, a gritty texture can be felt by your fingertips on the skin's surface. This texture will be present for 2-3 days and is completely invisible to the eye. You can apply makeup directly after treatment if you choose. As healing occurs, you will be left with smooth, glowing skin.
SPF 50+ should be word daily to prevent the risk of hyperpigmentation (darker skin) or hypopigmentation (lighter skin).
Like most cosmetic procedures, insurance doesn't cover Plasma Skin Tightening as it is an elective treatment. However, all major credit/debit cards, Venmo, CashApp, Apple Pay, GooglePay, Zelle, and cash are accepted. A 3% processing fee will be applied to credit card payments.
