Yes! The Plamere™ Plasma Pen & Mjolnir II Plasma device utilize a low frequency delivery of the plasma arc. This enables the treatment imprint to be wider, and shallower than traditional thermal only devices. The benefits of which are a greater tightening effect, allowing for better results, a quicker healing process, and less down time. This device can be used on most skin types, however, your practitioner will assess your skin and offer a patch test prior to treatment.
Plasma Skin Tightening can be used for:

-Diminishing stretch marks
-Tightening loose skin (sagging tissue)

The treatment can be uncomfortable, though little pain is experienced, and it varies person to person. For comfort prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied for 30-40 minutes to achieve the best effect. Clients who use retinol and drying products such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid will be more sensitive. Most clients say the pain level is 1-4 on a scale of 1-10.
A minimum of 1 hour is required to allow time for the topical anesthetic to take effect and have the area treated. Larger or combined treatment areas can take 1-3 hours. For a comfortable experience, please attend your appointment on time to allow the topical anesthetic application to have the required time to absorb and take effect in the areas you would like to have treated.
An immediate tightening will be seen during and after the treatment and continue for 6-8 weeks while in the healing process. Once healed, you will see an improvement in skin condition and tone. Collagen production gets progressively better over 10-24 weeks. If you don't see dramatic enough results after 8 weeks, you may require more treatments.
Once collagen is formed, the natural aging process of breaking down the collagen will then take place. Intrinsic and extrinsic factors can contribute to the collagen breakdown causing rapid aging of the skin such as UV exposure, lack of moisture, poor diet, weight loss/gain, stress, drinking alcohol and smoking.
A single treatment may be enough, but depending on the skin laxity, more than one treatment may be required. Subsequent treatments may be performed 8 weeks apart.
Immediately after treatment, the skin will have multiple tiny carbon crusts on the skin’s surface. As healing occurs, the skin will appear dry and flaky. In the first couple of days, redness and swelling will be present. Every individual will vary, some may have low swelling, whereas some may swell for over a week. Pigmentation from the carbon crusts can be present for longer if they are rubbed off too soon, for example when lying on one side of the face whilst sleeping.
Tenderness, redness and swelling are common side effects and are to be expected following the treatment. As the skin starts to heal, itching may occur. Aftercare products that are included in the price of the treatment should be used to alleviate the side effects and promote proper healing. All aftercare products are organic, natural, and vegan.
If aftercare instructions are not followed properly, risk of scarring, infection and hyperpigmentation (darker skin) or hypopigmentation (lighter skin) may occur. These are rare, but possible.
Like most cosmetic procedures, insurance doesn't cover Plasma Skin Tightening as it is an elective treatment. However, DermaNu is working to accept CareCredit. All major credit/debit cards and cash are accepted.
